About Me

Zhaoxiang Zhang received his bachelor’s degree in Circuits and Systems from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2004. After that, he was a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Professor Tieniu Tan in the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he received his Ph.D. degree in 2009. In October 2009, he joined the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Beihang University, as an Assistant Professor (2009-2011), an Associate professor (2012-2015) and the vise-director of the Department of Computer application technology (2014-2015). In July 2015, he returned to the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is now a Professor in the Research Center for Brain-inspired Intelligence.

His research interests include Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Machine Learning. Recently, he specifically focuses on brain-inspired neuronetwork and brain-inspired learning.

Zhaoxiang Zhang has published more than 90 papers in the international journals and conferences, including reputable international journals such as IEEE TIP, IEEE TCSVT, IEEE TIFS and top level international conferences like CVPR. Part of his work is favorably cited in the literatures and receives positive remarks such as “state-of-the-art”, “popular”, etc. He is served as PC of 15 international conferences, on the editor board of 1 international journal, and a reviewer of more than 20 international journals. He has been awarded with “Blue-Sky-New-Star of Beihang University“, “Beijing Youth Talents in University” and “New Century Excellent Talents in University”. He is a senior member of IEEE, a member of CCF, and committee member of YOCSEF.
